Completion! I am feeling the elation of creation right now. I should be tired, instead I feel madly energetic. That's why I'm writing this entry instead of sleeping. I've completed my paper on Jekyll and Hyde, and I experienced a rarity for me - writing with little pain or writer's block. Question - was the ease due to inspiration from the subject matter? After all, the play was by far the most effective that I've seen in the last ten years. It touched me and impressed me with its depth. How much of the writing ease was due to my conscious setting aside of my internal editor? I have certainly become more aware of him since I started this course. I may even have learned to shove him aside, or at least to turn him into a more constructive partner... |
