Discovery... Early 1995 was a time when I was discovering the possibilities of my personal creativity, both professionally and personally. I was seriously considering a career change into a creative field... I was reconnecting with my abilities as a creative person... I was beginning to hone my skills as a designer and an artist... By a bit of synchronicity, my friend Karen mentioned that she was considering participation in a course at the University of Houston-Clear Lake exploring creativity in its many forms. Facilitated by Irene Corbit of Houston's Jung Center, it turned out to be a wonderful and fascinating experience... an experience of tremendous personal growth and discovery. One of my many avenues of exploration was to keep a journal of my individual creativity - a written record of the process as it occurred for me. Between January and March of 1995, I wrote of my thoughts, feelings and actions as they related to my personal creative process. I decided to put those entries here, in their raw and largely unedited original form. They're indexed by date at left. I stopped keeping the journal after a time, and truthfully I doubt that I'll ever make any new entries (at least not on any regular basis). I'm just too lazy to keep up with it... and as I mentioned in Days in the Life, writing is such a painful process for me most of the time... I just can't bear the thought of maintaining it... But this is already done, and I'm really quite happy to have this much. If you want to share my thoughts on the creative process, click one of the entries at left or start at the beginning. I'd like to hear your thoughts about the creative process in general or how creativity works for you. Send me email! note... | |
